Technical Superintendent | Svendborg, Denmark

Rederiet M.H. Simonsen ApS is looking for an experienced and proactive Technical Superintendent to join our shore-based team in Svendborg. You will be part of the team responsible for the technical operation, maintenance, and inspection of our fleet of 9 tankers engaged in vegetable-oil trading.

Location

This position is based at our office in Svendborg, Denmark. We are looking for candidates who either already live in the Svendborg area or who are willing to relocate. The nature of the role requires close collaboration with our shore-based team, and regular presence at the office is expected.

Key Responsibilities

▸ Plan, coordinate and follow up on ship inspections, repairs and dry-dockings

▸ Monitor and maintain the technical condition of assigned vessels

▸ Oversee maintenance planning and execution in accordance with PMS

▸ Prepare and manage technical budgets; track expenditure and cost deviations

▸ Liaise with shipyards, suppliers and class societies

▸ Ensure compliance with ISM, MARPOL, SOLAS and ISO 14001 requirements

▸ Participate in emergency response and incident investigations

Qualifications

✔ Seagoing experience as Chief Engineer on tankers preferred

✔ Solid knowledge of ship inspections, dry-docking and repair processes

✔ Budget planning and financial acumen

✔ Administrative skills; experience from a similar shore-based position is an advantage

✔ Proficiency in English, both written and spoken — Danish is not required

✔ Structured, self-motivated and results-oriented mindset
