First Captain (Schiffsführer 1) – Inland Navigation

Are you an experienced First Captain who thrives on responsibility, leadership and safe inland navigation? Do you combine strong nautical expertise with excellent people management skills? Then we are looking for you.

As First Captain (Schiffsführer 1), you are the highest authority on board and carry the overall responsibility for the vessel, the crew, compliance to company and international regulations.

Your responsibilities

• Take full command of the tanker vessel and ensure safe and efficient daily operations.
• Lead, coach and motivate your crew while fostering a strong safety culture.
• Act as the key connection between the head office and your onboard crew.
• Ensure full compliance with the company's SMS, ADN, RPR and CEVNI regulations.
• Oversee cargo operations, navigation, mooring and emergency procedures.
• Oversee BIQs, maintain vessel documentation and ensure inspection readiness.
• Report incidents, defects and operational updates promptly to the head office.

What you bring

• Valid Patent A/B.
• Valid ADN Certificate.
• Fahrtenschreiber qualification.
• Valid Tresco Navigis / ECDIS Certificate.
• Proven experience as a First Captain in inland navigation.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Excellent communication abilities in English or German, at least basic River Speech
