Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Ocean Export Coordinator to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ocean export operations within the freight forwarding industry and possess in-depth knowledge of export documentation, regulations, and shipment management. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage ocean export shipments from origin to destination.

  • Prepare, review, and process export documentation in compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.

  • Ensure adherence to international shipping regulations and export procedures.

  • Handle shipments as both a Freight Forwarder and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier).

  • Coordinate hazardous cargo shipments and ensure compliance with dangerous goods regulations.

  • Communicate effectively with customers, carriers, vendors, overseas agents, and internal teams.

  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to inquiries and resolving shipment issues.

  • Monitor shipment status and proactively address delays or operational challenges.

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity within company systems.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and business partners.

  • Collaborate with team members to support operational efficiency and service excellence.

  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs while meeting tight deadlines.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of Ocean Export logistics experience working directly for a freight forwarder.

  • Strong knowledge of export procedures, documentation, and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience handling shipments in both Freight Forwarder and NVOCC environments.

  • Experience with hazardous cargo shipments; DG Certification is highly preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across multiple audiences.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy to prevent costly shipment errors.

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and adjust quickly when circumstances change.

  • Capable of working independently and carrying out responsibilities with minimal supervision.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive client relationships.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong customer service focus and commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Dangerous Goods (DG) Certification.

  • Experience working in a high-volume international logistics environment.

  • Familiarity with transportation management and freight forwarding systems.
