The Longview, Texas team is adding a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to the team! The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will coordinate and support daily shipping and receiving operations by preparing shipment documentation, scheduling carrier pickups and deliveries, inspecting incoming and outgoing materials for accuracy and damage, and ensuring all inventory transactions are recorded accurately in the system. Collaborate with warehouse staff, procurement, and customer service teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain efficient material flow.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment activities to maintain adequate supplies of shipping, receiving, warehouse, shop, and office materials, as well as materials required for the repair and rebuild of customer motors, including raw bar stock and machine shop materials.
- Maintain knowledge of proper package methods.
- Maintain knowledge of most common shipping and receiving equipment.
- Assist management with developing agreements with freight carriers and monitoring their performance.
- Make arrangements for pick-up by the specified carrier of all domestic outbound shipments. Make arrangements for pick-up of international outbound shipments as needed.
- Complete Bill-of-Lading forms.
- Maintain knowledge of various forms and software used and required by freight and ground carriers.
- Complete all appropriate internal and external documentation for proper shipping procedure.
- Read and interpret packing slips. Verify that the product received matches the information on the packing slip.
- Report any discrepancies with packing lists to the Purchasing Department. Report any defects in the product received to the Logistics Department supervisor/manager.
- Distribute all receiving documentation to appropriate personnel and/or department.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support warehouse organization to ensure efficient material flow, inventory accuracy, and a safe work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience in shipping and receiving.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
- Familiarity with industrial manufacturing environments and materials used in machine shop, motor repair, or electrical rebuild operations is a plus.
- International shipping experience preferred.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer systems including Microsoft Office software.
