Role Overview
The Trading Operations Sr. Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end execution of international commodity trade transactions, ensuring efficient shipment execution and full compliance with contractual, regulatory, and commercial requirements. The role coordinates logistics, export documentation, and trade finance documentation while serving as the primary liaison between internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless contract execution from shipment planning through payment.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in international trade logistics, export documentation, Incoterms, and trade finance, with the ability to manage multiple transactions, resolve operational issues, and collaborate effectively with suppliers, customers, logistics providers, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
In addition to supporting the Indonesia business, this role will provide partial operational support to the Holding Company in Singapore, assisting with selected international trade transactions across its global trading operations. The position requires close collaboration with regional teams and external partners to ensure timely, compliant, and efficient execution of cross-border trade activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end execution of commodity export transactions, ensuring all contractual obligations, shipment milestones, and customer requirements are fulfilled accurately and on schedule.
- Monitor trade execution throughout the transaction lifecycle, identify and resolve operational or documentation discrepancies, and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, contractual terms, and company policies.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage logistics activities in accordance with agreed Incoterms (EXW, FCA, FOB, CFR, CIF, and other applicable terms), ensuring cost-effective and timely shipment execution.
- Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, surveyors, inspectors, warehouses, and ground operations teams to facilitate smooth cargo movement and resolve logistics issues promptly.
- Coordinate shipment bookings and schedules while preparing, reviewing, and maintaining complete and accurate export documentation, including but not limited to Export Declarations (PEB), Certificate of Origin (COO), Certificate of Analysis (COA), Commercial Invoice (CI), Packing List (PL), Bill of Lading (BL), and other required shipping and regulatory documents.
- Prepare, verify, and manage trade finance documentation, coordinating with banks, financial institutions, and counterparties to support payment instruments such as Letters of Credit (LC), Documents Against Payment (DP), Cash Against Documents (CAD), and other agreed payment terms.
- Maintain accurate transaction records and shipment status updates, providing timely reporting to internal stakeholders and ensuring complete documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Minimum 8 years of experience in trade logistics operations, commodity trading, and supply chain management.
- Strong background in logistic coordination, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing trade logistics operations at domestic and regional level.
- Experience in the UCO/Oil/Commodity industries.
- Experience in handling container and bulk shipments.
- Proficient in trade execution, contract management, and export documentation.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Willing to be based in Jakarta (SCBD).
