Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Distribution Center Associate is executing various cross-functional warehouse operations within the distribution center, adhering to predetermined protocols and procedures. These activities include but are not limited to loading, unloading, picking, packing, and shipping customer orders. Additionally, the Associate is tasked with proficiently operating a forklift or other material handling equipment to facilitate the movement, positioning, relocation, stacking, and inventory counting processes.

Essential Duties

  • Unloads, receives, inspects, segregate, palletize, and loads products.
  • Locates products from storage locations.
  • Stocks inventory in proper location as directed by WMS.
  • Report issues and status of inventory audits.
  • Scan shipping carton ID#’s.
  • Prints and tags shipping labels onto parcels.
  • Transports goods and proper storage or picking locations.
  • Picks and packs customer orders efficiently and accurately.
  • Assembles customer orders and stack onto pallets.
  • Maintains clean production equipment and work areas as outlined in safety protocols.
  • Alerts supervisors of possible hazards or problems with products, machinery, or processes.
  • Operates a forklift when needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements

  • Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment.
  • Basic working knowledge of material handling equipment with the ability to maintain annual certification requirements
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities based on management and customer requirements
  • Basic knowledge of simple math concepts
  • Proactive “self-starter” with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to drive a Forklift or get certified within specified amount of time
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with teammates, understand and provide directions, and make entries on reports/records
  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred

  • High School Diploma/GED

Consistent interaction with other hourly production/distribution team members and management. May interact with third party drivers or distribution channel personnel.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Work Environment

This position works within in a distribution or manufacturing work setting with minimal temperature control. Will be frequently exposed to seasonal temperatures of excessive cold or heat. Work environment is often loud, dusty and/or dirty due to the materials required for production.
