Indexed description

BRIGHTPICK is looking for a Warehouse Operations Coordinator to be the full-time, on-site backbone of our North American tech center in Austin, TX — the person who keeps the facility running end to end, both physically and administratively. Flexibility, initiative, and a hands-on approach will be key as we scale across North America. If you're a practical operator who is equally comfortable on a forklift and in a spreadsheet, and you geek out about robots, automation, 3D vision sensors, AMRs, etc… we recommend you read on.

On any given day you might unload a freight shipment in the morning, set up an Autopicker for a customer demo before lunch, swap a routine part on a Retriever in the afternoon, and close out the day by ordering supplies, coordinating a broker for an outbound international shipment, and getting the office ready for tomorrow's visitor. Roughly 60% of your week is warehouse and logistics and 40% is facility and office operations. This is not a deep mechatronics or engineering role, and it is not a desk-bound admin role — all hands-on robot work is routine and guided by written procedures and our remote-support team, with anything beyond that escalated to our mechatronics specialists. By owning the routine physical work and the day-to-day office glue, you free up our senior specialists to travel and deploy at customer sites, and you give the Austin office the full-time, on-site presence it has been missing.

Location

US, Texas

Type of employment

Full-time

Pay

From $25 per hour (and more based on seniory and experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, unpack, pack, and ship robots, spare parts, and equipment; load and unload trucks and operate a forklift safely.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments end to end with our EU HQ operations team, including freight forwarders, bills of lading, and customs brokerage per Incoterms.
  • Fulfill spare-part requests and keep requesters updated on options and status.
  • Manage warehouse and spare-parts inventory: cycle counts, audits, and stock accuracy in SAP.
  • Keep the warehouse organized, labeled, and audit-ready (5S).
  • Set up, run, and tear down demo equipment and robot systems for customer visits and tradeshows; keep demo robots staged and ready.
  • Perform routine, guided part swaps on robots per procedure, escalating anything requiring deep mechatronics to the specialists and remote-support team.
  • Provision and test project/demo IT equipment and assist remote support with on-site infrastructure.
  • Serve as the full-time on-site presence that keeps the Austin facility running day to day, handling supplies, upkeep, safety signage, and building/maintenance vendors.
  • Coordinate preparation and access for customer, guest, and vendor visits.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a hands-on warehouse, logistics, shipping/receiving, 3PL, facilities, or technical-operations role; experience in a technical or industrial environment preferred.
  • Comfortable with heavy, physical, hands-on work: packing, loading, material handling, and following guided procedures to swap and replace parts. No deep mechatronics, engineering, or programming background required; you'll be guided by our experts.
  • Forklift experience & certification
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized self-starter who can juggle warehouse work and office administration in the same day and close the loop on purchasing, vendors, and invoices.
  • Familiarity with international shipping, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and Incoterms.
  • Basic comfort with tools and terms like AMR, AGV, WMS, 3PL, SAP, QuickBooks, Incoterms, forklift, point cloud, Jira, Google Workspace, e-commerce, FMS, bonus points if you actually read this whole list.
  • Cursory knowledge of networking and basic IT troubleshooting to support on-site infrastructure and demo/project equipment.
  • Clear, proactive communicator with a customer-ready presence for demos and guest visits.
  • Dependable and self-directed, comfortable being the single full-time person on-site and owning outcomes without daily oversight.
  • Able to lift up to ~50 lbs and stay on your feet on a warehouse floor throughout the shift.
  • Authorized to work in the US. This is a full-time, on-site role with approximately 10% travel for occasional tradeshow setup/teardown and demo support; role is on-site at Brightpick's North American tech center in Austin, TX.
