Position Purpose
Responsibilities
Rivtow Marine is looking for a full-time Operations Superintendent (Marine) based in Port Hedland, WA. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing operations and supporting a large fleet of escort and harbour tugs at the world’s busiest export port. More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Position Requirements
- Leading and developing a high-performing team to deliver operational excellence
- An understanding of the technical scope of vessels and maintenance
- Ensuring compliance with ISM/ISO/Class/AMSA legislation, management systems, and practices
- Overseeing shipboard systems and operational standards
- Driving safety performance and coaching others in high safety awareness
- Delivering results aligned with customer and project goals
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Experience operating in a towage fleet or similar marine environment
- Sound understanding of ISM/ISO/Class/AMSA legislation, management systems, and practices
- Knowledge of shipboard systems and computer-based planned maintenance systems (e.g., Sertica, NS5)
- High-level safety awareness with the ability to lead and coach others
- Demonstrated flexibility and resilience in handling complex issues and solving problems effectively

Essential Qualifications, Experiences & Capability
- Previous experience in Offshore/Onshore Marine disciplines
- Familiar with Class and Flag State / AMSA Rules and Regulations
- High level of safety awareness and ability to lead / coach others to high safety performance
- Strong organisational skills with demonstrated time management ability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to identify and build key relationships
- Marine related trade qualification
- Proven ability to lead, direct and deliver results within agreed time frames
- Strong focus on continuous improvement and learning
- Strong team player and the ability to work autonomously
- Demonstrates in behaviors and actions the values and vision of Rivtow in their approach to work
