Role Description The Logistics Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Lincolnshire, IL. This position coordinates daily international and domestic shipments, including booking ocean and air freight, arranging inland transportation, and monitoring cargo status from origin to destination. The role involves preparing and reviewing shipping and export documentation, supporting customs clearance processes, and maintaining accurate records in logistics and tracking systems. The Logistics Specialist will manage communication with customers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve issues, provide shipment updates, and ensure service commitments are met. This role also contributes to process improvements by analyzing logistics performance, identifying delays or cost drivers, and supporting continuous optimization of supply chain operations.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact effectively with clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to track shipments, interpret logistics data, and troubleshoot routing or delay issues.
  • Candidates should possess Supply Chain Management knowledge to coordinate end-to-end freight movements and understand inventory and lead-time impacts.
  • Candidates should possess Export-related skills, including familiarity with export documentation, trade compliance, and international shipping regulations.
  • Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in freight forwarding or logistics operations, proficiency with logistics or ERP systems, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A relevant associate or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
