Shipping & Crating Technician – Day Shift

Conveyor Concepts (CCMich) | Coopersville, MI

Conveyor Concepts (CCMich) is an engineer-driven manufacturing company that designs and builds custom material-handling systems. Our shipping work supports one-of-a-kind equipment—not boxed inventory or pre-packaged products.

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys hands-on, physical work, building and securing large shipments, and working in a manufacturing environment where no two shipments look exactly the same.

Important to Know Before Applying

This is not a traditional warehouse, pick/pack, or scanning role.

If your experience is primarily pulling items from shelves, scanning barcodes, and placing products into boxes, this position will not be a good fit.

Our Shipping & Crating Technicians:

Build custom wooden skids and crates from scratch

Measure, support, and secure large, fabricated steel and conveyor components

Use judgment and problem-solving—not a scanner or packing list—to prepare shipments safely

Why You’ll Like Working Here

  • Four 10-hour shifts
  • Limited overtime: Half-day on the fifth day per week as needed
  • No mandatory weekends: Saturdays are voluntary; Sundays are never scheduled
  • Safety-first culture: PPE, safety boots, and prescription safety glasses provided
  • Stable employment: We work hard to keep our team working steady hours year-round
  • Hands-on leadership: Supervisors are on the floor and available
  • Small-business environment: You’re known by name and your work is noticed
  • Monthly catered lunches and free snacks daily

Schedule

4 days: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM

5th day: 5:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour (based on experience)
  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Benefits Include:
    • Health, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability insurance
    • 401(k) retirement plan
    • Paid Time Off based on years of service
    • 9 paid holidays
    • Annual bonus opportunities
    • Employee Assistance Program
    • Safety shoe reimbursement
    • Prescription safety glasses
    • Clothing discounts and tool loan program
Key Responsibilities

  • Build custom skids and crates to safely support large, irregular shipments
  • Accurately measure materials and plan how loads are supported and secured
  • Prepare shipments by packing, sealing, labeling, and documenting contents
  • Verify shipment contents against shipping records
  • Photograph completed shipments for documentation
  • Manage time and priorities based on shipping schedules
  • Record shipment weight and dimensions and communicate details to scheduling
  • Maintain a clean, organized shipping area
  • Transport materials using a forklift (hi-lo)

What We’re Looking For

  • Comfortable with physical, hands-on work throughout the shift
  • Strong ability to read a tape measure and work with dimensions
  • Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, shipping, or construction preferred
  • Forklift (hi-lo) experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Valid driver’s license required

This Role Is a Great Fit If You:

  • Enjoy building, measuring, and working with your hands
  • Like variety and problem-solving over repetitive tasks
  • Have worked in manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or industrial shipping

This Role Is Likely Not a Fit If You:
