Job Description
The Inventory Controller is responsible for ensuring the right materials are available when required to support safe and reliable Mount Isa operations, while minimising unnecessary inventory investment. Working closely with Maintenance, Operations, Warehouse, Procurement and Master Data teams, the role manages inventory risk, optimises stock levels and supports effective replenishment decisions. The position also plays an important role in improving data quality, identifying supply risks and driving continuous improvement across inventory processes and controls., * Monitor inventory levels, shortages, supply risks and replenishment requirements to protect operational continuity.
- Review demand, usage, lead times and stock holdings to optimise inventory levels and support replenishment planning.
- Work with Procurement, Warehouse, Maintenance and Operations to resolve shortages, urgent requirements and supply issues.
- Maintain accurate material master data and investigate inventory discrepancies, unusual movements and data quality issues.
- Identify and manage excess, surplus, slow-moving and obsolete inventory to optimise inventory investment.
- Analyse inventory performance and drive continuous improvement opportunities across processes, reporting and controls.

About The Candidate
The successful candidate will have previous experience in inventory control, materials management, supply planning, procurement or warehouse operations, ideally within mining, resources, heavy industry or another asset-intensive environment. Practical experience working with an ERP system, preferably SAP, and an understanding of inventory replenishment, stock movements, purchasing and material master data will be highly valued. The role requires a strong analytical and practical mindset, with the ability to interpret demand, usage and lead-time information, manage competing priorities and work effectively with operational and technical stakeholders., * Relevant experience in inventory, materials management, supply planning, procurement or warehouse operations is the primary requirement.
- Strong inventory management and optimisation capability.
- Understanding of replenishment planning, stock movements and supply risk.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret inventory, demand, usage and lead-time data.
- Good Microsoft Excel and reporting capability.
- Practical experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a broader team.
- Strong focus on data accuracy, follow-through and continuous improvement.
