A Day in the Life:
The Facility Assistant I supports the daily operations of a grain and special crops facility by operating processing equipment, handling product movement, and assisting with receiving, storing, and shipping activities. This entry-level role contributes to safe and efficient operations, ensuring product quality, accurate inventory management, and strong customer service through regular interaction with producers, customers, and internal teams.
Position Details:
As part of our commitment to supporting a 24/7 operation, team members should be flexible and available to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift, including weekends and overtime as needed to support business demands. Shift assignments are based on operational needs and may vary over time. Specific schedule details will be discussed during the interview process.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Operate grain and special crops processing equipment, including binning, cleaning, drying, blending, and storing product to meet quality and shipping requirements.
- Document and report bin mixes, collect samples, and support quality testing and analysis.
- Prepare, weigh, and load railcars and trucks for outbound shipments.
- Prepare and maintain shipping documentation and product samples.
- Receive and record incoming product, including quality, damages, or shortages, and support inventory accuracy through routine checks and reconciliations; escalate issues to Facility Assistant II when required.
- Assist in evaluating product quality, including dockage and moisture under direct supervision.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on processing equipment and service equipment used in product movement.
- Maintain facility and grounds cleanliness, ensuring work areas are safe, tidy, and compliant with EH&S guidelines and ISO standards.
- Perform other duties as required to support efficient and safe operations.
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Previous grain and/or special crops experience is considered an asset.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Ability to work independently while following established procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build effective working relationships.
- Mechanical aptitude to operate and maintain grain processing and farm supply equipment.
- A valid driver’s license may be required.
- Physical ability to perform duties in a grain or special crops facility, including good eyesight and color perception.
