Job Responsibilities
Logistics Operations
- Lead and coordinate warehouse and road transportation activities across multiple regions.
- Ensure reliable delivery performance by meeting agreed OTIF, lead time, and cost‑to‑serve targets.
- Support commercial and customer‑facing teams with logistics solutions tailored to customer requirements.
- Manage third‑party warehouses and logistics service providers through KPIs, regular reviews, and structured governance.
- Ensure inventory quality, safety, and compliance standards are maintained at all external warehouse locations.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with logistics partners while driving service and cost improvements.
- Own and maintain logistics data, including shipment data, freight information, and mandatory transport requirements.
- Manage and continuously improve the Global Logistics Visibility tool to support performance tracking and decision‑making.
- Drive standardisation of logistics processes across all sites, covering inbound, outbound, and inter‑site flows.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and simplify operations.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international transport, customs, and trade regulations.
- Promote and reinforce high SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) standards across all logistics operations and service providers.
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert for warehouse and road logistics topics.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in logistics, managing logistics service providers and transportation flows.
- Proven experience working with multi‑site and/or multi‑country logistics operations.
- Background in chemicals, oil & gas, food, or another regulated manufacturing industry is strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of international freight, customs, and trade compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management (or equivalent).
- Supply chain or logistics certifications are a plus (e.g. CLT/CLA, IMO, IATA).
- Strong understanding of global trade, import/export processes, and transportation safety regulations (ADR, DOT).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with good commercial awareness.
- Confident working with ERP systems, TMS/WMS, and logistics reporting tools.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Power BI knowledge is an advantage.
- Clear and effective communicator, able to work with diverse stakeholders.
- Proactive, data‑driven, and improvement‑focused mindset.
- Strong customer focus and collaborative working style.
- High level of safety awareness and commitment to compliance.
- English: Fluent (spoken and written).
- Travel: Role is based in Porto with occasional travel to other company sites.
- Hybrid work, 3 days in the office per week.
