Job Description
Summary /Objective
Maintains oversight of all shipping and receiving tasks; including loading, unloading, preparing items for shipment, collaborating with shipping companies, and verifying shipments for accuracy and completeness. Moves freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or using other equipment.

- Coordinate all incoming and outbound shipments with the Production Manager
- Responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of products to customers, including driving the delivery vehicles.
- Coordinate the processing of internal shipping documents and work packets
- Responsible for all inbound shipping and receiving documents
- Load and unload inbound and outbound freight.
- Responsible for adherence to all Safety Procedures, including chocking of wheels, safety chains and straps, etc.
- Must have the ability to safely strap and bind outbound freight.
- Respond to the ever-changing demands of the production department while maintaining a service oriented and helpful demeanor to Vendors, Customers, Co-workers and Outside Sales Representatives.
- Communicate changes to the shipping schedule in a timely fashion.
- Expedite the prompt resolution of employee, vendor and customer problems, questions, concerns, and discrepancies. Notifies the appropriate personnel of situations that are beyond the scope of responsibility level, including all feedback from Customers.
- Maintain essential inventory items per established procedures.
- Will assist Leader/Supervisor with testing new products, ordering supplies, etc.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance in compliance with preventative/predictive schedules.
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
- Transfer all work in process and raw materials from department to department safely while maintaining a productive work flow.
- Identify and label all materials before distribution throughout the plant.
- Ensure adequate materials are present for each machine/department before they are in need of it.
- Replace chip/scrap bins for the machines when they are 90% full.
- Maintain an organized material storage through the entire plant & keep cleanliness of shipping department
- Maintain daily preventative maintenance on lift truck as well as keep it to 5S standards.
- Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
- Build skids, saw work & air-nail gun operation.
- Hand grind burs off edges of blocks
- Crane operation
Work Environment/ Physical Demands
This job operates in a manufacturing shop environment with direct and frequent exposure to outside weather elements. Exposure to noise, chemicals, and materials consistent with a manufacturing environment is constant. This is a physically demanding position; maintaining the physical strength to lift materials up to 50 pounds, endure prolonged standing, dexterity, and stamina is necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position (40-45 hours per week). This position is a day shift schedule. Overtime work may be required as job duties demand.

- High School diploma or equivalent
- One to three years of experience with shipping and receiving.
- Must have the demonstrated ability to safely operate all material handling equipment, including fork trucks, overhead cranes, jib cranes, battery magnets, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
- Experience with shipping and receiving in a manufacturing environment.
- Must submit pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check authorization.
- Must have and maintain valid driver’s license and favorable driving record.
