Cargo Specialist - Air

Adecco is seeking an experienced Senior Air Cargo Operations Specialist for a dynamic and fast-paced logistics environment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in air freight operations, compliance, and client service.
You will play a key role in ensuring the seamless movement of air cargo shipments while maintaining operational excellence and delivering high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of air freight shipments, from booking to final delivery
- Coordinate with airlines, customs brokers, ground handlers, and internal teams
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve delays or disruptions
- Serve as a senior escalation point for customers and operational issues
- Ensure compliance with IATA, TSA, and international shipping regulations
- Prepare and review documentation, including AWBs, invoices, and packing lists
- Build and maintain strong relationships with airline partners and clients
- Track performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Support, mentor, and guide junior operations team members
Qualifications
- Experience in air freight or cargo operations
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, incoterms, and documentation
- Experience working within a freight forwarder, logistics provider, or similar environment
- Proficiency in logistics systems and Microsoft Office (Excel preferred)
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Preferred:
- IATA/FIATA certification
- Dangerous Goods (DGR) certification
