Responsibilities and Duties
- Inbound Logistics & Quality Control: Physical receipt of all deliveries, checking for completeness and transit damage (especially sensitive electronics, prototypes, and batteries), and ensuring proper storage.
- Warehouse Organization & Optimization: Structuring, maintaining, and continuously optimizing our hardware warehouse layout to ensure quick access times and maximum safety.
- Inventory & System Maintenance: Conducting regular stocktakes (inventories) as well as ensuring the seamless and accurate booking of all material movements in the ERP system.
- Picking & Packaging: Professional assembly of components, modules, and systems for engineering and worldwide customer shipping – including transit-safe and compliant packaging (e.g., hazardous materials handling for lithium-ion batteries).
- Transport Organization: Independent booking, management, and monitoring of national and international shipments via air freight, courier services, or road transport.
- Customs Clearance & ATLAS: Creation of all necessary customs and export documents as well as handling customs procedures (e.g., via ATLAS). Classification of goods (customs/HS codes) and issuing certificates of origin or Carnet ATA for temporary exports.
- Compliance & Export Control: Ensuring compliance with German and European foreign trade laws as well as export control guidelines (e.g., dual-use goods, BAFA declarations, basic knowledge of EAR/ITAR).
- Cross-functional Interface: Close collaboration with internal departments (Engineering, Supply Chain, Production) as well as external partners (freight forwarders, customs authorities, and courier services).
- Oversee daily supply chain operations - ensuring purchase orders, shipments, and inventory movements are executed on time and in full
- Maintain contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies for critical components and high-risk supply categories
- Completed commercial or vocational training in logistics (e.g., Fachkraft für Lagerlogistik, Kaufmann/-frau für Spedition und Logistikdienstleistung) or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years of solid experience in operational warehouse logistics (goods receipt, picking, packaging) combined with a proven track record in import and export processing within Germany/the EU.
- Good knowledge of German/EU customs law and experience with the ATLAS system. Professional experience in handling dangerous goods (especially lithium-ion batteries according to ADR/IATA regulations) is a strong plus.
- Experience with ERP systems, ideally NetSuite
- Solid Excel skills and quick understanding of digital tools
- Fluent in German and English (written and spoken). Auterion's company language is English, while contact with local authorities and service providers is often in German.
