THE ROLE

At MSC, the Marine Officer plays a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our global fleet. Acting as a central point of coordination between vessels, shore-based teams, and external stakeholders, the department supports a wide range of marine activities, contributing to operational excellence and the highest standards of safety, performance, and regulatory compliance. We are looking for a dedicated and proactive professional to join our team and help drive the successful management of our maritime operations.

YOUR IMPACT

• Monitor weather conditions of vessels.
• Create and insert passage plans in the dedicated system.
• Ensure, monitor all day long, passage plans are agreed upon with the Master and updated according to weather forecasts.
• Advise on adjusting course and speed to limit vessel rolling/pitching in inclement weather.
• Check weather conditions before arrival at port and coordinate with the Master for tugs and mooring arrangements.
• Ensure anchoring only in designated areas and avoid in adverse weather conditions.
• Coordinate the installation of Shore Tension and Lock Passage with PIC.
• Follow-up with PIC in case of damages, incidents, and accidents (claims functions).

YOUR BACKGROUND

• Strong understanding of marine operations.
• Sea time onboard cargo vessels is a plus
• Ability to handle pressure
• Critical Thinking: analyzing situations and making informed decisions to ensure safety and efficiency
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Proficient level of English
