Role Description The Customs Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in El Paso, TX. This role is responsible for coordinating and monitoring import and export activities, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and internal policies. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing customs documentation, working with Freight forwarders, tracking shipments, and resolving clearance issues in a timely manner. The Customs Specialist collaborates with internal teams and external partners to optimize cross-border logistics, maintain accurate records, and support continuous improvement of customs processes.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in customs-related functions, including Customs Brokerage and coordination with customs authorities and brokers.
  • Strong Import, Export, and Import Export knowledge, with the ability to manage end-to-end cross-border transactions and documentation.
  • Effective Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with clients, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Familiarity with international trade regulations, trade agreements, and customs compliance best practices.
  • Ability to interpret and apply customs laws, tariffs, and classification requirements accurately.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with office and logistics software tools.
  • Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain environments is beneficial.
  • Relevant education in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • proficiency in Microsoft office.
  • Working knowledge of RB Systems or Cargo Wise customs software.
