Technical Coordinator

About Us

Thalatta Shipping Management S.A. is seeking a motivated and ambitious professional to join our office in Thessaloniki. We are looking for someone with a passion for shipping who wants to build a long-term career in ship management.

Candidates with a Marine Engineering background are encouraged to apply, although applicants with relevant shipping experience and the right attitude will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the day-to-day operational and technical performance of the assigned fleet.
• Assist in coordinating technical matters with Masters, Chief Engineers, suppliers and service companies.
• Maintain and monitor fleet spare parts inventory.
• Prepare spare parts requirements based on vessel needs and coordinate worldwide deliveries.
• Follow up purchase requests and ensure timely supply of critical spare parts.
• Prepare and maintain an up-to-date fleet work list, including: Open jobs, Jobs in progress, Completed jobs.
• Coordinate repairs, maintenance and service attendance with vessels and suppliers.
• Liaise with the Technical, Operations, Crewing and HSEQ departments.
• Investigate machinery failures and operational issues and follow up corrective actions.
• Assist with operational reporting, budgeting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Marine Engineering degree or relevant maritime education is preferred.
• Alternatively, previous experience in ship management, technical purchasing, marine engineering or fleet operations.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong command of English (written and spoken).
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and genuine passion for shipping.
