How you create impact

The Sea Logistics Operational Care Specialist, Import supports day-to-day import operations within the Operational Care Center. This role is focused on shipment follow-up, file accuracy, internal customer support, proactive communication, and resolving issues that may impact shipment movement or customer commitments.

You will work closely with Customer Care Locations, internal operations teams, carriers, and system/process teams to keep shipments visible, accurate, and moving through the process.

  • Ensure accurate file processing by following company procedures and maintaining real-time shipment visibility.
  • Monitor shipment status and follow up on missing information, delays, exceptions, or documentation issues.
  • Respond to internal customer inquiries and requests through email, phone, and system updates.
  • Partner with Customer Care Locations to support customer commitments, review KPI trends, and assist with corrective or preventive actions.
  • Support issue resolution by communicating clearly with internal teams, customers, carriers, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with system and process teams to improve automation, accuracy, and Operational Care workflows.
  • Maintain customer and shipment data in core operating systems, including Business Profile updates and internal knowledge resources.

What we would like you to bring

  • 1+ year of freight forwarding, import/export, logistics, transportation, or shipment coordination experience
  • 1+ year of customer service, customer support, or internal stakeholder support experience
  • Experience with shipment tracking, documentation, dispatch, carrier communication, order fulfillment, or issue follow-up preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow up with urgency
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, email-heavy environment while also being willing to pick up the phone when needed
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate system updates

This position is based onsite in Detroit, MI. The role is onsite for the first 90 days. After the probationary period, the schedule is 4 days onsite and 1 day remote.

This position is targeted to start around $50,000 annually, with limited flexibility based on experience, skills, internal equity, and business considerations.

This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.
