Ocean Import Coordinator

Overview:

A growing international freight forwarding and logistics company is looking for an experienced Ocean Import Coordinator to join its Houston-area team.

This is a hands-on role managing ocean import shipments from pre-alert through final delivery, working closely with customers, overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, truckers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Coordinate end-to-end ocean import shipments
• Manage arrival notices, vessel schedules and delivery arrangements
• Prepare and review import documentation
• Coordinate with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers and truckers
• Track shipments and proactively manage delays/issues
• Monitor customs clearance and cargo availability
• Arrange final delivery and ensure documentation is completed accurately
• Maintain accurate shipment records and support billing

Requirements:

• 2+ years' ocean import/freight forwarding experience
• Strong knowledge of ocean import processes and documentation
• Experience working with ocean carriers/NVOCCs
• Familiarity with customs clearance procedures
• CargoWise experience
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments
