About The Role
This role supports Air Canada's cargo operations and manages all cargo office requirements in Australia, based in Sydney.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage station ULD inventories and liaise with Cargo Network Control YYZ and the GHA to ensure sufficient equipment supports cargo operations.
- Implement load plans and coordinate with the warehouse/ramp team to ensure best use of available space and weight for each flight.
- Monitor data entries done by the GHA, ensuring entries are performed in a timely manner.
- Verify shipment/ULD data in the cargo and load control systems.
- Ensure GHA activities always align with Air Canada's safety policy and SOP.
- Maintain good relationships with interline carriers for smooth transit cargo transfer.
- Monitor Cargo iQ score and take corrective actions to improve scores.
- Support and monitor the GHA to plan load and entry into weight and balance systems.
- Monitor and coordinate ramp activities.
- Answer enquiries from customers on both import and export, and from other stations with cargo in/out of Australia.
- Handle irregularities and operational disruptions.
- Maintain and arrange replenishment of the office's forms, labels, stationery and other administrative supplies.
- Monitor ULD build-up of sensitive product shipments (VAL, HUM, AVI, etc.) to prevent pilferage and damage while goods are within the cargo terminal facility.
- Monitor the list of uncleared AWBs and coordinate with the GHA and overseas office to close them.
- Work in ramp for loading supervision and work under a roster as required.
- Coordinate with the GHA and sales teams on ULD build-up to maximise space and weight utilisation.
- Ensure cargo safety and security by checking all shipment documents for compliance with Air Canada standards and SOP.
- Coordinate with all parties, including the GHA, and take necessary actions such as rebooking cargo when aircraft are grounded due to maintenance.
- Liaise with GHA representatives to maintain strong working relationships.
- Participate in regular meetings with GHAs to discuss operational issues.
- Undertake other job-related tasks and duties as assigned by the Manager.
- Undergraduate degree required.
- Good airfreight industry knowledge.
- Minimum 5 years' related work experience.
- Fluent in English, oral and written; other languages an asset.
- Eligible to work in Australia at the time any offer of employment is made, and responsible for obtaining any required work permits, visas or other authorisations; proof of eligibility to work must be provided prior to the start date.
