Role: Trade Execution Executive – Edible OilsLocation: ChennaiExperience: 2–3 YearsCTC: 11–12 LPARole OverviewWe are looking for an Entry to Mid-Level Trade Execution Executive to join a growing Edible Oils trading business. The role involves executing tanker and container shipments, ensuring seamless contract execution, timely documentation, and compliance with international trade regulations.
Responsibilities
- Execute domestic and international tanker and container shipments from contract inception through completion
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties, including customers, suppliers, freight forwarders, surveyors, and shipping lines
- Prepare, review, and manage import and export documentation for smooth customs clearance and timely cargo movement
- Ensure accuracy of trade capture and verify contractual terms before execution
- Prepare and review shipping documents including Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Survey Reports, Insurance Certificates, and Letters of Credit
- Ensure shipments are executed in accordance with applicable Incoterms and governing trade contracts
- Coordinate with banks, surveyors, shipping agents, and logistics providers for timely execution and document compliance
- Monitor shipment progress, proactively resolve operational issues, and escalate complex matters when necessary
- Maintain accurate execution records and ensure compliance with policies and international trade regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or related discipline
- 2–3 years of relevant experience with a commodity trading company executing Edible Oils, Soft Oils, Grains, Oilseeds, or other bulk commodities
- Hands-on experience managing both tanker and container shipments
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms and international trade practices
- Familiarity with governing trade contracts such as PORAM, FOSFA, GAFTA, ANEC, and UCP regulations
- Experience with Trade Structured Finance, Letters of Credit, and banking documentation
- Sound knowledge of shipping documentation including B/L, COO, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Survey Reports, and Insurance Certificates
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Proactive team player with strong sense of ownership, capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with virtual interview process
