Purpose of the Job
We are looking for a strategic, results-driven Head of Project Cargo & Industrial Projects to lead, build, and expand Aramex Morocco’s industrial project logistics capabilities. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead our commercial growth and operational execution for complex, heavy-lift, out-of-gauge (OOG), and breakbulk shipments, catering to high-impact sectors such as energy, oil & gas, mining, infrastructure, and industrial manufacturing across Morocco and North Africa.
Key Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Commercial Leadership & Business Development
- Strategy & Market Growth: Design and execute a robust country-level growth strategy for project cargo and industrial logistics.
- Tenders & Bidding: Lead the end-to-end management of complex industrial tenders, developing competitive pricing structures, technical proposals, and commercial frameworks.
- Key Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strategic, long-term partnerships with EPC and key industrial accounts.
- Cross-Selling: Drive synergy by collaborating with Aramex's global network, air/ocean/land freight teams, and supply chain divisions to offer integrated solutions.
- Project Operations & Technical Execution
- End-to-End Management: Oversee the flawless execution of complex project shipments, multimodal transport operations, heavy-lift movements, vessel/aircraft charters, and road transport for oversized cargo.
- Route Surveys & Engineering: Coordinate site inspections, route surveys, and feasibility studies for heavy-lift and out-of-gauge inland transport within Morocco and regional corridors.
- Carrier & Vendor Management: Negotiate service agreements and manage third-party vendors, including heavy transport operators, port authorities, stevedores, and charter brokers.
- Financial Stewardship & Performance Management
- P&L Ownership: Take full ownership of the vertical's financial outcomes, driving top-line revenue growth while closely managing profit margins and cost control.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Deliver accurate revenue forecasts, variance analyses, and regular performance reporting to senior management.
- Risk Management, HSSE & Compliance
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and mitigate operational, commercial, and financial risks associated with oversized and high-value cargo.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict compliance with Moroccan customs regulations, international trade laws, and corporate Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards.
Experience:
- Minimum 7 to 10+ years of progressive experience in freight forwarding, with a strong, specialized focus on Project Cargo, Breakbulk, and Industrial Logistics.
- Proven track record of securing major project contracts and managing multi-modal operations in North Africa or similar emerging markets.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Knowledge:
- Deep expertise in chartering (air/ocean), heavy-lift engineering, port handling, and specialized road transport.
- Familiarity with local Moroccan regulatory frameworks, customs clearances, and national transport authorities is a distinct advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional negotiation, commercial acumen, and tender-management skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in French and English.
