The Specialist EHS Transportation Safety & Compliance is responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and sustainable transportation and distribution of BASF products across all modes of transport. The role supports BASF's Responsible Care® commitments by driving transport safety excellence, reducing transportation risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting continuous improvement throughout the supply chain.

  • Safety comes first! You conduct transport risk assessments, identify hazards across chemical transportation networks, evaluate risks to people, infrastructure, and the environment, and implement effective mitigation measures to ensure safe and compliant operations.
  • You assess and audit logistics service providers, including carriers, warehouses, terminals, and transport partners, drive corrective actions, and monitor transport safety performance to foster continuous improvement.
  • Better is always possible! You support the investigation of transport incidents, spillages, and near misses, identify root causes, implement preventive measures, and share lessons learned to strengthen transport safety across the organization.
  • Together with your colleagues, you deliver transport safety and dangerous goods training, advise internal and external stakeholders on TDS requirements, maintain safety documentation, support audits and inspections, and contribute to global and regional transport safety initiatives.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • successfully completed university degree in natural sciences, engineering, safety, environmental management, logistics, supply chain management, or a comparable field
  • several years of professional experience in a regulatory, safety, logistics, supply chain, product stewardship, or chemical industry environment
  • sound expertise in regulatory frameworks such as ADR, RID, and IATA, combined with experience in transport and distribution safety, stakeholder engagement, training programs, and proactive incident prevention
  • excellent English skills as well as confident use of MS Office applications and relevant standard digital tools
  • proven digital and AI focus with the ability to leverage modern technologies
  • strong communication and consulting skills, analytical thinking, customer orientation, and the ability to collaborate effectively in an international network

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A dynamic work environment that empowers you to contribute your ideas, take ownership, and assume responsibility.
  • A strong focus on continuous learning, modern technologies, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence, enabling us to work in a future‑oriented, efficient, and sustainable way while actively driving innovation.
  • A secure work environment because your health, safety and wellbeing are always our top priority.
  • Learning opportunities for your professional and personal development.
  • Career paths as professional development into other roles within the company.
