Duties and responsibilities: Prepare motors and parts for shipment as per customer and internal requirements Prepare documentation such as waybill, bills of lading, customs invoices and associateddocumentation, labels and other paperwork as required for shipments inbound and outbound from Canada, the USA and international countries Receive motors and parts, recording all information from motors and parts received Perform pick-ups and/or deliveries as required, to and from customer and vendor facilities Load and unload a variety of transport vehicles
Transport and move equipment to and from storage facilities Receive incoming parts, supplies and materials
Operate forklift trucks, hand pallet trucks and/or other material handling equipment to load, unload, transport and store motors and associated parts and equipment Communicate with staff and freight companies or customers by use of e-mail. Use the internet to assist in finding the proper information to complete tasks and objectives Ensure all motors, associated parts and equipment are packaged, fastened, protected and covered appropriately to transporting containers, crates and skids Contact logistics companies to schedule transportation and competitive pricing for pick-ups and deliveries Ability to plan and coordinate shipments Maintain storage facility and shop storage areas in a safe, clean and orderly manner May be required to assist the office staff by opening and/or closing work orders; preparing packing slips and preparing shipping and other reports as required Perform daily inspections of the company vehicles, ensuring all fluid levels are maintained, lights, mirrors, steering and brakes are functioning properly and that the general operation of the vehicles meet road worthy standards, making note and immediately reporting any problems or damage and completing the necessary paperwork to comply with DOT standards This position requires that you will be on call, after hours and on off days, to respond to logistics or custom issues. A company communication device will be issued Support Public Relations and Customer Service efforts including generating additional business when on calls Communicate with staff and freight companies or customers electronically. May require use of the internet to assist in finding the proper information to complete tasks and objectives Must be able to follow written and verbal operating instructions
Qualifications: Minimum requirement High School or Technical School Minimum one year in a related industry Experience as a driver, shipper and receiver in a related industry Must be familiar with computers and basic Microsoft Office application programs Understand Safety and ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System requirements Clean driving record and a forklift License May work on fixed or rotating shifts, Monday through Sunday as required
