Shipping Coordinator - 1st Shift

Responsibilities
- Answer all inbound phone calls and emails in timely manner
- Ensure all trucks arriving at docks have set delivery appointments
- Provide a weekly shipping and receiving schedule
- Coordinate work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
- Communicate with management in the department and/or in the plant to ensure coordination of warehouse activities.
- Receive incoming products and materials
- Maintain proper inventory levels within the plant for production needs.
- Provide support and back-up to Supervisor in his/her absence.
- Responsible for the quality of work performed and for identifying and documenting quality problems for corrective action and prevention of non-conforming products utilizing VMS.
- Manages department priorities– adjust as necessary to achieve maximum results.
- Maintain proper inventory levels, monitor levels during production run, and bring forward inventory issues before we run out of items.
- Monitor and communicate to supervision about damaged product write-offs
- Monitor and work with employees to reduce inventory adjustments.
- Ensure rework is cycled out to production for usage daily.
- Ensure inventory is inventory-related procedures are followed daily.
- Ensure finished goods inventory is rotated properly avoiding old age issues due to shipping.
- Develop a full understanding of EDI, SAP, and VMS system
- Ensure SSOP’s being completed daily (which includes housekeeping issues i.e. freezer frost and general area housekeeping)
- Miscellaneous Job Duties as assigned by leadership.
- One-year certificate from college or technical school, six months to one-year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts.
- Strong attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required:
- Standing and/or walking throughout the shift
- Perform physical skills: hold, feel, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear and listen
- Lifting /Carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Use of both hands when required, some repetitive motion required
- Work in both extreme hot and cold temperatures as well as wet conditions.
