Ocean Freight Pricing Specialist

Your Responsibilities
- Assist in negotiating ocean contracts and securing competitive rates and capacity.
- Support the development and implementation of Ocean Freight pricing policies aligned with global strategy.
- Monitor and maintain internal rate cards; ensure accuracy of rate filing and contract administration.
- Provide rates for tenders and respond to rate inquiries from regional and country teams.
- Support the Capacity Management Centre (CMC) in managing space allocation.
- Collaborate closely with global, regional, and country procurement teams to deliver competitive pricing and service options.
- Assist in measuring and driving improved yield and profitability across Ocean Freight (including FCL, LCL, BCN, and related services).
- Support the development and implementation of tools and KPIs to improve yield management and productivity.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness by analyzing job profitability and contributing to financial performance.
- Active collaboration with Sales and Account Management to ensure a thorough understanding of the selling market
- Support Procurement Managers in resolving disputes between countries and carriers/suppliers.
- 3–5 years’ experience in ocean logistics, pricing, or procurement.
- Excellent command of German and good to very good English skills (spoken & written)
- Strong understanding of international shipping practices and carrier pricing models.
- Familiarity with freight management systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of country customs and maritime regulations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across global teams and manage multiple priorities.
