The Company employs over 1,600 personnel worldwide, on land and sea-based operations. The Head Office and central management is located in Athens with commercial activities situated in London.
The company was originally involved in coastal shipping and over the past 6 decades has grown into all main types of Dry Bulk vessels, with a principal focus on the Geared segment.
Position
As a Port Operator you will:
- Monitor vessel's activities at port, updating as necessary as per Company's policy aiming to minimize overheads and expenses.
- Establish contact with agents and request information for port and operation.
- Record and evaluate agents' performance.
- Receive quotation from agents for various owners' matters and vessel activities at port such as crew changes, spares clearance, supplies as well as specific ship's requirements.
- Appoint agents/advise Company's departments accordingly based on vessel's requirements and Office's Depts requests.
- Check agents' disbursements and forward them for approval.
- Cross-checking the various agreements and contracts between operators and agents.
- University Degree (in shipping will be an asset)
- At least 3 years of working experience in a similar position
- Excellent command of English language (both written and verbal)
- High accountability to deliver timely and quality results, with strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
- Familiarity with ERP systems, such as Danaos
- Strong PC literacy (especially MS Office)
