Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Processing and securing legal clearances, seafarer employment contracts, and permits with maritime and labor bodies. In the Philippines, this heavily involves direct coordination with agencies like the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), and the Bureau of Immigration.
- Fieldwork & Transaction Management: Frequently traveling to various government offices, embassies, and pier zones to physically submit, verify, and retrieve essential statutory ship and crew documents.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, Customs Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Typically 1 to 3 years of experience in crewing coordination, documentation processing, or general liaison work within a shipping or manning agency.
- Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of international and domestic maritime regulations, such as the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC 2006) and STCW standards.
- Key Skills: High attention to detail for tracking document expiration dates, strong communication skills, and the flexibility to do extensive field/on-site work.
