Computer Perception and Vision
Work description
Automated feeding of different types of parts in industrial environments requires advanced visual perception and artificial intelligence systems. The challenge lies in developing systems capable of:
- Detecting, locating, and estimating the orientation of parts for robotic handling.
- Visually inspecting parts and identifying defects or nonconformities.
- Identifying gripping points and supporting separation, redistribution, and rejection operations.
- Ensuring robust operation with different geometries, materials, and operating conditions
Academic Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Minimum profile required
- Enrollment in a PhD program in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
- Proven knowledge in real-time robotic control.
- Knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System).
- Experience in C/C++ programmingExperience with Artificial Intelligence frameworks
Preference factors
- Knowledge of AI and Computer Vision.
- Knowledge of Autonomous Systems and Control.
- Systems Python programming skills.
- Previous experience participating in robotics competitions
Maintenance stipend: € 1359.64, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants, paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.
INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders.
The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.
