Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Build the Next Generation of AI-Powered Productivity

Futureheads is partnering with an exciting and well-funded AI company building an AI-native assistant designed to help users manage tasks, conversations, workflows, and everyday activities through intelligent automation.

This organisation is focused on solving some of the most challenging problems in applied AI, including long-term context management, multi-step reasoning, workflow orchestration, and reliable real-world task execution. Their goal is simple: help people achieve significantly more with less effort.

As they continue to scale, they are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to take ownership of critical production ML systems that sit at the heart of the product.

The Role

This is a hands-on engineering position where you will design, build, deploy, and optimise machine learning systems that directly impact users.

You'll work across the full machine learning lifecycle, from model development and training through to deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement. The role offers significant technical ownership and the opportunity to shape core platform capabilities from an early stage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and scale production machine learning systems powering a next-generation AI product
  • Own ML solutions end-to-end across data, training, evaluation, inference, and monitoring
  • Translate research concepts into reliable, production-ready systems
  • Diagnose and resolve model and system performance issues using real-world production signals
  • Optimise systems for latency, reliability, cost, and safety
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and research teams
  • Drive continuous improvements through experimentation, measurement, and iteration
  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience building and deploying machine learning systems used by real customers
  • Strong software engineering skills and a commitment to production-quality code
  • Deep understanding of machine learning systems in production environments
  • Experience designing scalable, maintainable ML architectures
  • Ability to independently solve complex and ambiguous technical problems
  • Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills

Technical Environment

  • Python
  • PyTorch
  • JAX
  • GPU-based training and inference systems

About You

You are someone who enjoys taking ownership of challenging technical problems and seeing them through to completion. You combine strong machine learning expertise with practical engineering judgement and are motivated by delivering measurable impact rather than research alone.

You'll thrive in an environment that values autonomy, fast learning, experimentation, and continuous improvement.

What's on Offer

  • Opportunity to work on a genuinely innovative AI product
  • Significant ownership and technical influence
  • Highly talented engineering team with a strong learning culture
  • Remote working from the UK or the option to go into the London office
  • Competitive salary, equity, and benefits package
  • The chance to help build AI products that will be used at global scale

If you're excited by the challenge of building reliable AI systems that solve real-world problems, we'd love to hear from you.
