We’re working with a YC-backed robotics startup building the AI-powered control layer for industrial robots, starting with welding.
They have raised a $6m seed round and are already deploying systems with manufacturing partners. The team combines deep experience across AI, robotics, infrastructure and startup engineering.
This is an employee #4 opportunity, joining a small technical team building software that directly controls physical systems in real production environments.
The Role
You’ll work across software, AI, robotics and hardware, taking ownership of core systems from early research through to deployment at customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Design and build systems connecting software, industrial robots, sensors and networks
- Develop production software across the robotics and AI stack
- Work hands-on with vision systems, robotic arms and welding equipment
- Deploy and maintain systems in customer production environments
- Contribute to architecture, technical direction and product decisions
- Travel occasionally to industry partners across the UK, Europe and US
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and production ownership
- Comfortable working across unfamiliar technical areas
- Experience building complex systems involving software, hardware or infrastructure
- Ability to move between high-level architecture and hands-on implementation
- Interest in robotics, computer vision, industrial systems or applied AI
- Startup experience or evidence of independently owning difficult technical problems
Relevant Technology
Python, C++, robotics, computer vision, machine learning, distributed systems, networking and industrial hardware.
Location
Five days per week onsite at an industrial lab near London Bridge.
Package
£100,000 to £150,000 + bonus + meaningful equity.
