- Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group KellyOCG, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking an Optics & Machine Vision Engineer for a 12 month+ engagement at one of our Global clients working in Jacksonville, FL. This role is a full-time, fully benefited position.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of how optics, illumination, imaging hardware, and computer vision work together—and takes personal ownership of getting the details right.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize optical systems for machine-vision applications.
- Develop optical setups, including lenses, illumination, cameras, filters, mounts, and other hardware behind the imaging system.
- Apply principles of image formation to achieve high-quality, repeatable imaging performance.
- Generate and curate optics and imaging data to support machine-vision and computer-vision systems.
- Develop and evaluate professional machine-vision solutions for inspection, measurement, detection, and classification.
- Work closely with computer-vision engineers to translate optical and imaging requirements into practical system designs.
- Analyze image quality, resolution, contrast, distortion, lighting, focus, field of view, and other optical performance characteristics.
- Troubleshoot optical and imaging systems and identify the root cause of performance issues.
- Build, test, and refine optical prototypes and hardware configurations.
- Maintain extremely high standards for precision, consistency, documentation, and quality.
- Strong background in optics, optical engineering, imaging, or machine vision.
- Understanding of image formation and optical system design.
- Hands-on experience with optical hardware and camera systems.
- Familiarity with computer vision and professional machine-vision systems.
- Experience generating, collecting, or managing imaging/optical data.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Extremely detail-oriented, with a strong personal commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Comfortable working hands-on with hardware as well as collaborating with software and computer-vision teams.
- Ability to take ownership of technical problems from initial concept through testing and implementation.
