Driven by the passion to improve quality of people’s lives, WSA continues to grow as a market leader in the hearing aid industry. With our commitment to increase penetration in an underserved hearing care market, we want to accelerate our business transformation in order to reach more people, more effectively.

Are you passionate about hardware-software integration, system testing, and hearing technology? Join our R&D team as a System Integration Engineer and play a key role in bringing next-generation hearing aid platforms from development to production.

You’ll work across hardware, software, testing, and R&D disciplines to design robust integration strategies, improve test environments, and drive technical solutions that ensure product quality and long-term sustainability.

What you will do

  • Design, implement and maintain test concepts, frameworks, toolchains, and test solutions for effective hardware-software integration across different development stages of hearing aid platforms
  • Execute integration tests for products under development (including Wireless- and Electro-Acoustic measurements), analyze results, and align findings with project managers, developers, students, and other relevant stakeholders
  • Work hands-on with hearing aid hardware, electronic components, FPGA boards, firmware, software, and test equipment to support early-stage product development
  • Prepare test plans and maintain and improve the ITS test framework, including plug-in functions and the integration environment
  • Contribute to improving existing integration processes, approaches, and tools, driving greater efficiency, effectiveness, quality, and sustainability
  • Collaborate across R&D disciplines, production, and tooling development to solve cross-domain challenges and, at more senior levels, contribute to technical architecture and new solutions
  • Run verification and validation of hardware and software setups to ensure they meet defined requirements and expected performance
  • Ensure project documentation is maintained in compliance with applicable medical device standards
  • Supervise and plan work packages for students within the team.

What you bring

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Medical Technology, Embedded Systems, or a comparable technical discipline; a Master’s degree or higher is preferred
  • Relevant experience in system integration, hardware-software integration, test engineering, embedded systems, electronics, or a related field; experience in medical devices or hearing technology is beneficial
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA boards and electronic hardware, with a strong interest in understanding how hardware and software work together
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience of MATLAB, Python, or similar technical/programming tools; experience with Git, SQL, ADS, or related tools is advantageous
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical disciplines
  • A structured, quality-focused approach with the ability to work independently and take ownership; more experienced candidates should also bring strong technical ownership and experience contributing to system architecture and technical direction
  • Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
