Role Description: This full-time, remote Application Engineer role is based in El Paso, TX. The Application Engineer will configure, test, and deploy AI optical sorting, robotic packaging, and automated palletizing systems to meet customer requirements, working closely with engineering, sales, and service teams. Responsibilities include conducting application trials, supporting system integration from design through commissioning, and performing on-site installation, calibration, and verification of equipment. The role involves diagnosing technical issues, providing hands-on troubleshooting and technical support, and coordinating with remote diagnostics and service resources to ensure minimal downtime. The Application Engineer will also create technical documentation, train customer personnel on system operation and maintenance, and contribute feedback to improve system performance and future product enhancements.
Qualifications
- Strong Technical Support skills, including troubleshooting, customer-facing issue resolution, and on-site service capabilities.
- Experience with Software Development or software configuration related to automation, machine vision, or control systems.
- Applied knowledge of Electrical Engineering, such as control panels, sensors, PLCs, drives, and industrial power systems.
- Applied knowledge of Mechanical Engineering, including conveyors, material handling equipment, robotics, and machine assembly.
- Competence in Testing, validation, and system commissioning, including application trials and performance verification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system schematics.
- Comfort working in industrial environments and traveling to customer sites as needed.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers.
- Experience with machine vision, optical sorting, robotics, or packaging automation is highly beneficial.
