AI Director & Editor

Umbrella Collective is an AI-driven Production Company crafting ads and social content for brands that like to stand out. We mix sharp design, clever ideas, and solid craft, and we’re looking for an AI Director & Editor to join the team.

Role:

As an AI Director & Editor, you’ll create visually compelling, narrative-driven content using the latest AI video and audio tools. This role is for someone who thinks like a filmmaker and editor first, someone who can build a strong 1–2 minute story from scratch, even with minimal references or direction.

You’ll receive broad creative briefs rather than highly defined execution plans, so we’re looking for someone who can independently shape the visual language, pacing, atmosphere, and storytelling approach of a project.

What You’ll Do:

• Conceptualize and create short-form AI-generated films and narrative content from ideation to final delivery.
• Develop visual storytelling concepts, pacing, and narrative arcs based on broad creative directions.
• Edit dynamic, emotionally engaging content with strong rhythm and cinematic structure.
• Use AI video and audio tools to create cohesive worlds, characters, and visual sequences.
• Maintain visual and narrative consistency across multiple shots and scenes.
• Experiment with emerging AI workflows, tools, and storytelling techniques.
• Collaborate with creative teams while taking ownership of the creative execution process.
• Continuously explore and integrate the newest AI filmmaking technologies into production workflows.

What You Bring:

• Strong director/editor mindset with excellent sense of rhythm, pacing, montage, and tension-building.
• Confident editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve.
• Deep understanding of visual storytelling and cinematic language.
• Ability to maintain consistency in characters, environments, and narrative tone across scenes.
• Hands-on experience with the latest AI video and audio generation tools such as Runway, Sora, Seedance, ElevenLabs, and similar platforms.
• Highly independent, proactive, and experimental mindset.
• Comfortable working with open-ended creative challenges and “blank page” situations.
• Strong creative intuition paired with technical execution skills.
• Fluent English communication skills.
