Software Engineer

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

• Design and develop high-performance C++ components for desktop applications in the healthcare sector, focusing on performance, stability, and scalability.

• Architect, implement, and review complex multithreading and parallelization concepts for efficient and responsive execution.

• Analyze, refactor, and optimize a large existing codebase, identifying bottlenecks and improving product quality.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive modernization from legacy systems to modern C++ and .NET.

• Utilize AI agents and tools to accelerate code analysis, refactoring, and legacy modernization efforts.

What You'll Need

• Several years of senior-level experience in professional C++ development, ideally in high-performance, highly parallelized desktop systems.

• A strong academic background in computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.

• Deep expertise in modern C++ (C++14/17/20), multithreading, concurrency, debugging, and performance tuning.

• Hands-on experience with Qt, CMake, Conan, MSVC, and integrating components like CEF.

• Confident and effective use of AI in software engineering, including agentic coding tools and AI pipelines.

• Fluent German and English, both spoken and written.
