We are seeking an experienced Display Application Engineer to support the development of next-generation automotive display solutions.


In this role, you will take technical ownership of display components throughout the complete product lifecycle, from concept and supplier selection through validation, series production, and issue resolution. You will work closely with both internal engineering teams and external suppliers to ensure high-performance, reliable display solutions for automotive applications.


Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain technical specifications for automotive display components.
  • Translate customer expectations into measurable display performance targets.
  • Coordinate technical discussions with display suppliers throughout development.
  • Evaluate display concepts, engineering changes, and supplier proposals.
  • Support the development of TFT-LCD, OLED, optical bonding, touch integration, backlight systems, and cover glass technologies.
  • Define and assess optical performance, including brightness, contrast, color accuracy, viewing angle, and reflection characteristics.
  • Develop display measurement methodologies and evaluate optical test results.
  • Support validation activities, investigate failures, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Drive structured problem-solving using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, and DMAIC.
  • Develop and improve automation and analysis tools using Python, LabVIEW, and NI TestStand.
  • Collaborate with System, Hardware, Software, Mechanical, Validation, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and supplier teams.


Required competencies:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optoelectronics, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in automotive display development or a related engineering discipline.
  • Fluent English communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of TFT-LCD, OLED, Optical Bonding, Cover Glass, Touch Integration, and automotive display manufacturing technologies.
  • Experience with optical characterization, photometry, colorimetry, and display measurement techniques.
  • Practical experience with Python, LabVIEW, NI TestStand, Ansys, and Speos.
  • Background in supplier collaboration and technical project coordination.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with experience in structured problem-solving.


Desirable competencies:

  • German language skills.
