Are you passionate about solving complex engineering challenges and driving quality through advanced inspection technologies? We are looking for an experienced Defect Inspection Engineer to join our clines growing team and play a key role in developing and optimising state-of-the-art optical inspection solutions used within the semiconductor and high-precision manufacturing industries.


Working closely with Engineering, Process Development, and R&D teams, you will help improve defect detection capability, enhance inspection performance, and contribute to the delivery of world-class manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement automated defect detection and inspection strategies.
  • Analyse optical inspection data to identify trends, process variations, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Optimise inspection algorithms to improve sensitivity, accuracy, and throughput.
  • Support process engineers with root cause investigations and failure analysis.
  • Improve defect classification through image processing and data analysis techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with R&D and production teams to develop innovative inspection solutions.
  • Validate new inspection methods and support the introduction of new products and manufacturing processes.
  • Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate documentation of inspection performance and improvements.


About You

You will have a passion for technology, excellent analytical skills, and experience working in a precision manufacturing or semiconductor environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in semiconductor inspection, optical inspection, quality engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of optical metrology and precision inspection techniques.
  • Experience analysing inspection data and image processing results.
  • Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, C++, or other data analysis and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of machine vision, image processing, or AI-based inspection systems.
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes or other high-precision production environments.
