Robotics Engineer
Indexed description
We're looking for a Robotics Engineer to help design, build, and test our robotic magnetic navigation platform. You'll work across the core disciplines that drive robotic navigation and system validation: robotics and controls, computer vision and perception, and robotics simulation. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who wants to grow their depth across multiple technical domains while working alongside our Principal engineers in each area.
Level and compensation for this role will be determined based on experience — candidates may be leveled as Engineer or Senior Engineer depending on years of experience and demonstrated scope of impact.
You Will
- Design and build software in one or more of our core technical areas: robotic path planning and motion control, computer vision and ML-based perception, or 3D robotic simulation
- Support design decisions with engineering analysis, simulation, prototyping, and hands-on testing
- Help define and execute test plans and acceptance criteria for the components you own
- Collaborate closely with systems and hardware engineers to integrate your work into the broader system
- Participate in design reviews, risk analysis, and root-cause investigations across simulation, algorithms, and system integration
- Deepen your expertise in one or more specialty areas over time while building working familiarity with the rest of the system
- 2-8 years of robotics engineering experience, with exposure to robotic path planning and controls, computer vision and machine learning, and/or simulation tooling for robotics or complex electromechanical systems, preferably in an environment with high reliability requirements or under a regulatory regime
- A good collaborator who understands the importance of clear communication and humility and knows when to ask for support
- Motivated to apply advanced technology across multiple fields to a concrete application that saves lives
- Excited to be an early hire at a startup – resourceful, strong sense of ownership, able to make progress in the face of ambiguity, evolving priorities, and limited process
- Interested in working in a high-reliability, safety-critical environment; prior experience in a regulated industry is a plus but not required
- Able to take ownership of discrete features or modules and see them through from design to validation
- Eager to learn and grow across robotics, perception, and simulation domains as our team and product evolve
- Comfortable with Python, Linux, GIT
- Experience in the medical device industry, ideally with interventional or robotic systems
- Familiarity with robotics development tools such as Drake, ROS, Moveit, RVIZ, Gazebo, and Isaac Sim
- Experience with computer vision, 3D sensing, or medical/domain-specific imaging (e.g., fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT/MRI)
- Experience with 3D robotics simulation concepts: kinematics, dynamics, sensor modeling, and environment/world modeling
- Comfortable with C++
