Role Overview

As an AI & Data Engineering Manager, you will lead and manage a team of Data Engineers and AI Engineers to design, build, and scale data platforms and AI solutions. You will play a critical role in shaping data strategy, driving AI initiatives, and delivering business impact through advanced analytics and machine learning.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Data Engineers and AI Engineers

- Define team structure, roles, and development plans

- Conduct performance reviews and support career growth

- Foster a strong engineering culture and best practices

Data & AI Strategy

- Define and drive the company’s Data & AI roadmap aligned with business goals

- Identify high-impact use cases for AI, machine learning, and analytics

- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize initiatives

Data Engineering & Architecture

- Oversee design and implementation of scalable data pipelines and platforms

- Ensure data quality, reliability, and governance

- Work closely with Data Engineers on ETL/ELT, data warehouse, and data lake

AI / Machine Learning Delivery

- Lead development and deployment of ML/AI models (NLP, CV, etc.)

- Ensure models are production-ready, scalable, and maintainable

- Implement MLOps practices (deployment, monitoring, retraining)

Project Delivery & Execution

- Own end-to-end delivery of data and AI projects

- Manage timelines, resources, and risks

- Define success metrics (model performance, business impact)

Cross-functional Collaboration

- Bridge business, product, and engineering teams

- Translate business requirements into technical solutions

- Communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications

Experience & Leadership

- 5+ years in Data Engineering, AI/ML, or related fields

- Proven experience in leading Data and/or AI teams

- Experience delivering data and AI solutions in production environments

Technical Skills

- Strong understanding of machine learning, NLP, and/or computer vision

- Experience building data pipelines, data models, and data architectures

- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)

Data Platform & Cloud

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

- Knowledge of big data tools (e.g., Spark, Airflow, Kafka, Databricks is a plus)

MLOps & DataOps

- Experience in deploying and managing ML models in production

- Familiarity with CI/CD for ML, model monitoring, and lifecycle management

Business & Communication

- Strong stakeholder management skills

- Ability to align technical solutions with business needs

- Excellent communication and leadership capability
