We are currently partnering with an innovative engineering company in Jena developing advanced optical and photonic systems used in precision measurement, semiconductor technology and high-performance industrial applications.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Optical Integration Engineer looking to work on complex, multidisciplinary projects from development through to final system integration.

Your Responsibilities

• Integrate high-precision optical assemblies into complex electro-mechanical systems
• Perform optical alignment, calibration and system verification
• Support the development and optimisation of optical measurement and imaging systems
• Work closely with optical, mechanical, electronics and software engineering teams
• Analyse and resolve integration challenges during prototype and production phases
• Develop integration procedures, test methods and technical documentation
• Support product validation and continuous improvement activities

Your Background

• Degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Photonics or a related engineering discipline
• Commercial experience integrating optical or photonic systems
• Knowledge of optical alignment, imaging systems, lasers or precision measurement technologies
• Experience working with complex multidisciplinary engineering projects
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment used for optical testing and characterisation
• Experience with tools such as Zemax, MATLAB, Python or LabVIEW would be advantageous
• Experience within semiconductor equipment, photonics, precision engineering, scientific instrumentation or machine vision is highly desirable
