The ideal candidate will help design and develop MY ROBOTS’ AI-powered surgical knowledge platform. This role involves building reliable applications that capture, process, and structure intraoperative voice data and surgical decision-making knowledge.
The candidate will work across AI inference, backend systems, data pipelines, and web applications, with a strong focus on privacy, scalability, testability, and deployment in hospital environments.
Responsibilities- Develop high-quality AI-powered software and web applications
- Build pipelines for real-time audio capture, speech recognition, speaker diarization, transcription, and structured knowledge extraction
- Develop backend services and APIs for processing surgical audio, timestamps, screenshots, annotations, and review data
- Design scalable, modular, and testable system architecture
- Implement and optimize local or on-premise AI inference for privacy-sensitive hospital environments
- Integrate speech-to-text, large language models, and other AI components into the product
- Develop tools that allow surgeons to review, edit, validate, and organize AI-generated information
- Establish appropriate data security, access control, logging, and audit mechanisms
- Analyze, maintain, and improve existing prototypes and applications
- Design and execute software testing, AI evaluation, and performance monitoring
- Identify and resolve bugs, latency issues, accuracy problems, and system failures
- Collaborate directly with the founder, medical advisors, surgeons, and external development partners
- Contribute to technical architecture, product development priorities, and the long-term engineering roadmap
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Professional experience developing production-grade software applications
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with modern backend frameworks such as FastAPI
- Experience designing and implementing REST APIs and backend services
- Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Understanding of scalable, modular, maintainable, and testable software architecture
- Experience with Git, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD workflows
- Ability to independently analyze technical problems and deliver working solutions
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-moving startup environment
- Professional working proficiency in English
- Experience with real-time speech recognition, audio processing, or voice AI
- Experience with speaker diarization, speaker identification, or medical terminology recognition
- Experience deploying and optimizing large language models or multimodal AI systems
- Experience with PyTorch, Hugging Face, vLLM, NVIDIA NeMo, Whisper, or Pyannote
- Experience evaluating ASR systems using metrics such as WER and CER
- Experience with GPU inference, model quantization, edge AI, or on-premise deployment
- Experience building secure applications for healthcare or other regulated industries
- Knowledge of healthcare data privacy and security requirements
- Experience with Docker, cloud infrastructure, system monitoring, and production incident management
- Experience developing frontend applications using React, Next.js, TypeScript, or similar technologies
- Experience leading technical projects or working as an early-stage or founding engineer
- Interested in transforming surgeons’ tacit knowledge into structured and reusable clinical knowledge
- Comfortable building an early-stage product from prototype to production
- Able to balance development speed with reliability, security, and maintainability
- Willing to take ownership beyond a narrowly defined engineering role
- Motivated by healthcare innovation, surgical education, and patient safety
- Interested in growing into a technical leadership or founding engineering position
