Forward Deployed ML Engineer — Production LLM Agents
A fast-growing Series B AI healthcare company is hiring a Forward Deployed ML Engineer to help build and improve production LLM agents for complex medical workflows.
The company is backed by top-tier investors and works with leading US healthcare institutions. This is a hands-on applied AI role sitting between the AI/ML team and customers, focused on turning messy real-world data and customer feedback into accurate, reliable production systems.
What they’re looking for
- 2+ years in applied ML, AI engineering or forward-deployed engineering
- Strong Python for pipeline engineering, ETL or orchestration
- Experience building and shipping production LLM, RAG or agentic workflows
- Practical experience with evals, structured extraction, prompts and pipeline iteration
- Comfortable speaking with technical/customer teams
- Startup or applied AI company experience preferred
- Healthcare, clinical NLP, legal AI, financial document AI or other document-heavy extraction experience is a plus
- Strong technical degree or equivalent engineering depth
- Must be authorised to work in the US without sponsorship
Role details
- NYC / SoHo preferred
- Strong preference for in-office, especially early on
- Open to exceptional remote candidates who can spend meaningful time in NYC
- $170k-$220k base, with flexibility for exceptional candidates
