Senior AI Engineer, Productivity

We are an AI-first company, and the inside of the company has to prove it. You own our internal AI productivity platform, whether people actually use it, and the AI tooling our engineers build with. The vision is that everybody here works with agentic AI rather than only the people who write code, so the platform is Slack-native and multi-agent, and someone who has never opened a terminal can still run agents that do real work. It works today, but it is not yet something the whole company depends on, and closing that distance is the job.

What you'll do

• Own our internal AI productivity platform end to end: what it can do, how reliable it is, and who uses it.
• Raise the share of everyday work here that runs through agents rather than by hand.
• Make the platform usable by people who will never open a terminal.
• Own adoption as your own number, including rollout and training, not only the build.
• Give our engineers agentic development tooling that measurably speeds up their work.
• Decide what to build next from watching how people actually work, not from a feature list.
• Revisit the architecture. What exists today is a starting point, not a constraint.

Our stack

• TypeScript on Node 22
• Vercel AI SDK, with Anthropic and OpenAI-compatible providers
• MCP for tool integration
• Slack as the primary surface, with additional messaging platforms behind one adapter layer
• YAML manifests for configuration, SQLite for state, croner for scheduled work, zod for validation
• Claude Code and agentic development workflows, which you own for the engineering team as well
• What exists today is a starting point. The architecture is yours to revisit.

What we're looking for

The bar (non-negotiable, every role):

• Extreme drive and passion for the work and the mission.
• Extreme ability to learn fast and operate with confidence in uncertainty.
• Extreme IQ and EQ. You raise the level of every room, and you lose an argument gracefully the moment someone's right.

For this role specifically:

• You have built something other people adopted without being told to.
• Production experience with LLM agents, tool use and orchestration, rather than prompt experiments.
• Strong TypeScript, and the willingness to work in whatever language the problem actually needs.
• Real product instinct for internal tools: you have watched a colleague struggle and fixed it without waiting for a ticket.
• Comfortable teaching. Half of this role is getting people to change how they work.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Bonus points

• Slack platform development: apps, events, and Socket Mode.
• MCP, agent frameworks, or building on Claude Code.
• Owning internal enablement or developer experience somewhere that took it seriously.
• Having shipped something that started as an internal tool and became a product.
