The Position
We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Data Engineer to help us enhance our data infrastructure and analytical capabilities. You will play a key role in building and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring efficient data processing, and supporting advanced analytics and machine learning models.
As a Data Engineer, you will work closely with our Product Management team to understand business needs and translate them into scalable and reliable data solutions. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams of software developers, data scientists, and cloud engineers to enable real-time and batch data processing solutions.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Optimize and automate data workflows using Python (PySpark) and Databricks within an Azure cloud environment.
- Collaborate with Product Management and business stakeholders to understand product usage, reporting and analytics needs, and translate them into scalable data solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data-related issues, ensuring high availability and performance of data infrastructure.
- Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.
- Contribute to the evolution of our data architecture to support growing business requirements.
- Own and rive the evolution of our usage analytics domain, including data models, business metrics and analytical datasets, that enable reporting, dashboards and data-driven decision making.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Proficiency in Python (PySpark) for data processing and automation and hands-on experience with Databricks and Azure cloud services.
- Knowledge of SQL and database design principles.
- Experience with data modeling, including designing analytical and reporting-oriented data structures, as well as ETL processes and pipeline orchestration.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
- A high level of English proficiency (written and verbal).
- Curious and enthusiastic about working with data to drive business value.
- Collaborative, with a strong ability to work across teams, especially with Product Management.
- Driven and self-motivated, capable of working independently and taking initiative.
