Senior Data Scientist

About The Role

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a key role in transforming data into actionable insights and driving strategic decision-making. You will use advanced analytics techniques — statistical modeling, machine learning, and data mining — to extract value from large, complex datasets. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will design and implement data-driven solutions that optimize processes, improve customer experiences, and contribute to company growth.

Key responsibilities

• Model development & analysis: Build and refine predictive models, machine-learning algorithms, and statistical analyses to address business challenges.
• Data exploration & cleaning: Collect, preprocess, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Collaboration: Partner with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions.
• Data visualization & reporting: Present findings via compelling visualizations and dashboards to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Continuous improvement: Stay updated on the latest data-science methodologies, tools, and best practices. Proactively recommend improvements.
• Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists and analysts, fostering a collaborative environment.

Requirements

Education & experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. PhD is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in a data science, analytics, or related role.

Technical skills

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
• Solid understanding of statistical modeling, machine-learning algorithms, and data-mining techniques.
• Experience with data-visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and data warehousing.

Analytical & problem-solving

• Excellent quantitative skills to analyze complex datasets and develop actionable insights.
• Strong ability to break down complex problems into clear, logical steps.

Communication & collaboration

• Proven ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Leadership

• Prior experience leading data-science projects or mentoring junior team members.
• Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, set team goals, and influence strategic initiatives.
