Conversational AI Engineer

An innovative technology company is looking to hire a Voice AI Engineer to help build and enhance the next generation of conversational AI solutions.

This role will focus on developing intelligent voice and chatbot applications powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), with a strong emphasis on prompt engineering and creating natural, engaging user experiences.

You'll be joining a growing AI team where you'll have the opportunity to shape products from an early stage and work on cutting-edge Generative AI use cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy Voice AI and Conversational AI solutions.
• Build intelligent chatbot and voice assistant applications using Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Create, test and optimise prompts to improve AI performance and response quality.
• Develop and improve conversational workflows and user interactions.
• Integrate AI models, APIs and third-party services into scalable applications.
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into AI-driven solutions.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend enhancements to existing systems.
• Monitor, analyse and continuously improve AI accuracy and user experience.
• Support the deployment of AI solutions into production environments.

Required Experience

• Commercial experience developing Voice AI, Conversational AI, or Chatbot solutions.
• Strong experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) including OpenAI, Claude, Gemini or similar technologies.
• Proven expertise in Prompt Engineering.
• Experience designing conversational flows and user journeys.
• Strong programming experience, ideally with Python.
• Experience integrating AI models into real-world applications.
• Understanding of modern Generative AI concepts and frameworks.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with speech-to-text and text-to-speech technologies.
• Experience building Voice AI Agents.
• Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Experience with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph or similar.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Experience working within a start-up or fast-growth environment.
• Understanding of AI product development lifecycles.
