Backend Engineer
Location:
Copenhagen, Denmark
We are looking for a talented backend engineer, who wants to join Evertrace and create the #1 founder detection engine for data-driven VCs. Given the nature of products we are building, we are especially looking for engineers with experience from working in startups with data heavy applications. The role will be reporting to the founder team and responsible for further building out the backend with a sub-focus on frontend integration.
💡 What You Will Be Doing:
- Build out, improve, and maintain software related to our existing database architectures, integrations and product functionalities
- Own the backend development of new products from inception to production
- Help develop and train the machine learning models that underpin all of our products
- Help shape and define our future product roadmap
- Developing in Python
- Working with databases structures like PostgreSQL
- Working as a developer in a high-performing startup, so you know what good looks like and how we can enable our customers to better spot and evaluate the best new startups
- Training and building machine learning models – from simpler ones like linear/logit regression/xgboost to more complex LLMs
- Using and deploying applications on Kubernetes
- Scraping – limited part of the job, but a critical source of the data we build our products on, so key to understand how to handle scraped data, what is feasible/what isn’t, etc.
- Introduction (2x30 minutes with each founder) - Discuss Evetrace, the role, and yourself
- Coding interview (45 minutes) – Exercised based coding interview
- Data science interview (45 minutes) – General questions relating to statistics/machine learning, scraping, and data structuring along with exercises
- General technical interview (45 minutes) – Overall questions relating to working with our current stack and your recommendations to improve it
📬 How To Apply:
Please email your application to [email protected] – include your CV along with any links/references to any projects that showcase your skills.
We are always interested in speaking with great candidates – even if your profile doesn’t exactly match the above, but you believe that you could be a valuable addition to our team, please do not hesitate to reach out!
Our mindset
How We Work And What We Believe
Coverage is king.
You can’t invest in what you don’t see. We aggregate data and signals across every relevant source so you never miss a founder or a deal.
Timing is critical.
Winning deals starts early. We surface signals in real time so you can start the conversation the moment a deal becomes relevant.
Noise is waste.
Noise burns time on manual checks. We cut through the noise to only deliver high-potential founders that fit your thesis
